Police Debate Immigration
Allowing already strapped local law enforcement agencies to do federal criminal immigration checks will lead to racial profiling, will ruin relations with ethnic communities and is simply "bad public policy," Garden Grove Police Chief Joseph Polisar said Tuesday.
Enforcing criminal federal immigration law is the responsibility of the U.S. government, which has failed to secure its borders and hasn't fully funded immigration resources, Polisar said. PEGGY LOWE in the Orange County Register.
