Candidates in Calif. governor's race avoid immigration issue

For an issue on the minds of voters, immigration has been a notable no-show in the race for governor of California - at least until now. Incumbent Arnold Schwarzenegger's recent assertion that Mexicans often fail to assimilate could finally inject the polarizing topic that both candidates have skipped over because it offers more political risks than potential rewards.
